Welcome
The name Widikum is full of history and significance. To many, it is the symbol of a great people; the people of the Widikum Ethnic Group. To others, it is simply a clan; the Widikum clan located in the palm valley along the fertile banks of river Momo, in North West Region of The republic of Cameroon.
Others only remember Widikum as the headquarters of Widikum subdivision. The importance you give to the name Widikum will depend on the following:
- The degree of your fidelity or affection to the ancestral home; the roots of the Widikum people which is located at Eguni Oyimi; near the villages of Bamben and Numben
- The level of sacrifice that you are prepared to make so that Widikum can occupy the place it deserves in this country.
- Your vision of Widikum as a town, a clan and an Ethnic Group.
This brochure (Ateh Awareness forum - Click to download) is a giant step in our struggle to build a solid foundation for future generations. The work of the Awareness Forum must not therefore be limited to Widikum town which is made up of Tikom, Boffe, Abegum and Diche I. The next steps should include the Widikum clan located in Widikum Subdivision and the Widikum Ethnicity that today occupies Momo Division, the greater part of Mezam Division, some parts of Menchum, Lebialem, Manyu and even Bamboutus divisions.
Our greatest dream is to see that day when all people of Widikum origin shall return to their roots to receive the blessings of the ancestors. Together, let us prepare for that day so that the Widikum of tomorrow may produce rich and abundant fruits for our children and future generations.
Always remember that we are one people with the same origin and destiny. Always remember that the fighting spirit of our ancestors is in you. We owe Widikum a debt of gratitude.
This is time for action !
